If a tea break is your favourite part of the working day, then a new job opening could well be the perfect gig for you.
Beverage giant Tetley is on the hunt for two new recruits to fill roles as “Graduate Tea Buyers”.
The unusual role involves tasting up to 300 different teas per day, learning skills and partaking in training to become a tea master.
The successful applicant will also travel the world to build everlasting relationships with suppliers and tea growers and predicting the next tea trends.
As part of the role, the Tetley recruits will be expected to “learn the language of tea.”
A spokesperson for Tetley described the role as a “dream job” which “few know exists”.
“Tea tasting is a fine art, much like a wine sommelier, which takes years to master,” they said.
“10,000 hours of training across 450 skills need to be completed to be considered an expert, and that’s what we’re offering.”
They added: “You don’t need to have a refined palate when you’re starting out, this is developed through our training and mentoring programme”.
Those applying for the role are expected to have a 2:2 level grade in any degree discipline, as well as having strong planning, time management and organisational skills.
The pioneers of tea, who were established in 1837, said: “Tasting tea is a key part of the role so you need to have a clear passion for everything tea related.”
If you think you’d be a good fit for the job then apply quickly as the closing date is at the end of next week on November 5.
